STRUCTURAL TIMBER CONNECTORS / HEAVY-DUTY TRUSS ANCHORS

Simpson Strong-Tie TU24 Structural Truss-to-Concrete Anchor

The Simpson Strong-Tie TU24 is a premium, heavy-duty structural connector engineered to provide a secure, high-capacity mechanical joint between timber roof trusses or floor joists and solid masonry or reinforced concrete walls. Precision formed from heavy-gauge carbon steel and finished with a robust pre-galvanised coating, this heavy-duty bracket delivers exceptional load resistance against both vertical down-loads and uplift force profiles. The structural geometry features engineered pre-punched holes optimised for seamless attachment with approved structural indexing screws or timber nails on the wood member side, while providing heavy anchor points for mechanical expansion bolts or chemical resin studs on the concrete masonry side.

CRITICAL STRUCTURAL APPLICATION & SPECIFICATION MANDATE

The TU24 structural bracket must be securely anchored onto fully cured concrete or solid engineering blockwork that has met its absolute design load capacity. For proper load transfer, ensure the base and rear flanges sit entirely flush against the host masonry substrate before executing fixing protocols. Always utilise the exact diameter and grade of mechanical concrete anchors or resin anchors as specified by the project structural engineer. Fixings into the incoming timber truss member must completely fill the designated pre-punched holes with genuine Simpson Strong-Tie CNA connector nails or CSA connector screws to ensure the published characteristic values are fully realised across the lifetime of the assembly.

KEY STRUCTURAL PERFORMANCE ADVANTAGES

  • High-Capacity Connection Path: Delivers maximum structural integrity when anchoring heavily loaded trusses or floor beams directly to concrete boundaries.
  • Premium Galvanised Shielding: Formed with zinc-coated carbon steel to withstand moisture exposure within protected external or interstitial building envelopes.
  • Pre-Punched Fixing Layout: Features precision hole placements that speed up on-site carpentry alignments while reducing the risk of accidental timber splitting.
  • Rigid Structural Engineering: Bypasses weak site-fabricated framing options, giving structural engineers a fully tested, documented connection standard.

How We Keep Your Builds Moving

We operate our own dedicated logistics vans out of Luton alongside leading national freight carriers, ensuring full trace visibility from our warehouse shelves straight to site.

01.
Instant Hub Sorting: Approved orders pass straight to active pick queues via our localised automated barcode stock framework.
02.
Heavy Component Packing: Structural products are safely stored in industrial reinforced cartons or strapped securely to pallets to fully safeguard fine threads and anti-corrosion zinc surfaces.
03.
Tailgate On-Site Offloading: Bulk shipments drop cleanly at your structural site boundary line via integrated tail-lift carrier transport systems.

Logistics Scope & Out-Of-Zone Shipments

Standard courier pricing arrays map explicitly to structural mainland UK postal grids. Supplementary transit routing variables, variable lead times, or specialised carrier adjustments apply across high-altitude or outlying maritime zones:

  • Scottish Highlands & Islands: Postcode structures matching KW, IV, PA, and PH configurations map to alternative transit grids. Please review checkout calculations for accurate real-time weights.
  • Northern Ireland, Isle of Man & Channel Islands: Water-crossing logistical paths require clean custom manifesting lines.
  • Heavy Oversized Pallets: Extended multi-ply girder connectors, structural space straps, 3m channel unistrut, or high-volume masonry hangers pass through dedicated heavy haulage grids.
NEED SPECIFIC AM DELIVERY TIMES OR TIMED SITE COORDINATION? If your project features demanding time windows, unique site access restrictions, or crane offload coordination, contact our central logistics desk directly on 01707 375172 or email your schedule over to finalise arrangements.
