Simpson Strong-Tie IHS I-Joist Hole Supports
The Simpson Strong-Tie IHS I-Joist Hole Support range is an innovative, high-performance reinforcement system engineered to structurally strengthen engineered wood I-joists when web holes must be cut in locations not normally permitted by standard guidelines. Manufactured from robust pre-galvanised mild steel, this versatile system accommodates variable rectangular web openings from 150mm up to a maximum width of 250mm. By eliminating the need for complex, time-consuming timber joist trimming layouts, this profile allows critical large services to track smoothly through floor zones while maintaining full building control compliance across modern residential and commercial framing programs.

Close-To-Bearing Service Runs
Allows large service penetrations to be cut as close as 50mm from the inner face of the blockwork or bearing point, letting soil vent pipes (SVP) and main drainage routes pass right next to external wall drops.

Interlocking Retrofit Plates
Supplied as two pairs of interlocking sliding plates per joist side, enabling seamless installation on both single and double-ply configurations, even when pipework or ducting is already fully fixed in-situ.
